Our History

The Private Railcar Food and Beverage Association was founded on January 19th, 2016.  The idea of the Association came to light as a suggestion by a group of Cryo-Trans private railcar shippers.

A Rail Summit was held in Maryland in September of 2015 and 10 well known food and beverage companies voted to establish an association to represent their interests and concerns regarding freight rail shipping.  Cryo-Trans agreed to fund and continued to support PRFBA until Cryo-Trans was sold on December 31st, 2020.

PRFBA will always be grateful to Cryo-Trans for their encouragement through the early years of the Association.
